My Passion Project
Bringing Health and Wellness to Chatham-Kent
People who know me, know that I am as passionate about my fitness as I am about helping others be the best they can be. I moved to Chatham, Ontario in March of 2018 and was shocked to see the number of obese and morbidly obese people living here. It seemed to me that I was living in a town where people had given up on themselves. It didn't take me long to decide to make it my mission to bring health and wellness to Chatham-Kent.
I formulated a plan where I would leverage the resources that already exist in the community to encourage people to embrace an active lifestyle and become interested in life again. This requires active participation from local media outlets, the municipality and the business community to increase education around nutrition, exercise, the arts community, literacy programs and all other available resources. My work with them is ongoing and essential to making this campaign a success.
I recognized that in order to become very overweight, you must at some point have told yourself that you don't care. Not caring about yourself is a sign of a broken relationship between the outer self and the inner self. I knew I could help people change the way they feel about their lives, so I became a certified coach and changed the trajectory of my own life in the process.
I don't stand in judgement of anyone for the choices they have made. I simply want people to be the best they can be, because there is greatness in all of us. We all make regrettable decisions in this life and new decisions can always be made. We can all have access our personal greatness and I know how to take you to it.
